Mineral Mud Mask
Note from Annie - I've been working on this mask for several months - using myself (I have very sensitive, combination skin with rosacea and some adult acne on my chin) as the guinea pig. The Arctic Glacial Mud in itself is a wonderful ingredient and makes a huge difference in how my skin behaves. But I have been researching and testing and trying different combinations of ingredients that work well together. And I came up with what has made the biggest difference in my skin. It isn't drying, and the added ingredients are great for acne, dry skin, blackheads and rosacea. If you have extremely dry skin, I recommend adding two drops of one of our beauty oils to the paste you will be mixing up fresh each time you use it. (Use a little less water if you add beauty oil). By mixing water with the dry powder, you can avoid preservatives, emulsifiers and waxes that can irritate your skin. All of the ingredients are gentle, yet will help pull impurities and dry skin cells from the surface of your skin and pores. The first time you use it, you may get a little flakiness because it is gently loosening the debris. But after using it a few times, you should see a big difference in the texture and radiance of your skin. This has been my experience and I have tried many products through the years. Many masks make my skin turn bright red when I remove them. This mask leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft and I have not experienced any redness. The Zinc Oxide and Niacinamide, along with the other ingredients, help to heal any blemishes.
Directions - Mix 1 teaspoon Mask Powder with 1/2 teaspoon water to make a paste. If you want a thicker mask, you can add a little more Powder. Spread over clean skin. Allow to dry, then remove with warm water. Cleanse the skin afterwards to remove impurities that have come to the surface. Follow with our Minimalist Spray, Vitamin C Serum and a few drops of Beauty Oil or our new Minimalist Oil.
Can be used as a spot treatment on blemishes. Just mix up a tiny amount of powdered mask and water and dab on the blemish. Allow to dry, rinse off, and dab on some of our Banish Blemish Treatment.
This mask is good for all skin types. You may add a few drops of Essential Oils or Beauty Oil to the paste if you like - just use less water. Be sure to keep the Powdered Mask in the jar dry and uncontaminated and close the lid tightly. Keep away from the eyes.
This mask may sting a little bit at first. This is because of the Magnesium Chloride. This is the same ingredient that is mixed with water to make Magnesium Oil. It is a great way to get some Magnesium into your body. Studies have shown it absorbs very quickly into your system. Magnesium has so many benefits for the skin. I have found that even though it stings a little, it actually helps to calm down my sensitive skin.
