Finely milled, buildable coverage, not drying

Posted by Steph on 28th Sep 2016

This shade is equivalent to the shade NC42 in Mac liquid foundations. My skin is an neutral olive tone (C4) in the winter and it gets more warm as I become tan in the summer (NC42-NC45). Even in the summer, Caramel pulled a bit too orange on my skin. I wish there was a deeper version of tan olive. The shade select selection of Lucy minerals' foundations are limited if you are around my shade, and get even more limited if you are deeper. I think it's weird that they name the deeper shades after food.

Anyway, I got Caramel in the original formula. I have combination skin (dry cheeks, oily t-zone). The coverage is light-medium, but it's definitely buildable. It covered my dark acne scars without getting cakey. I usually apply this foundation with a damp beauty blender and spray my entire face with water after applying the foundation to my entire face. The texture of this foundation is wonderful - not drying in the slightest (unlike it's feline competition *coughcough*). My combination skin lends itself to awkward dry patches. This foundation applied very well in those areas. After oxidation, it looked almost skin-like.

I feel like the pricing on a full size jar could be better since they do 30g by weight, not volume. It's almost the price of a mid-range 1oz foundation.

    Wonderful

so easy and quick to use, very natural-looking, easy to mix with other shades, does not settle in wrinkles and can be used as a concealer as well. it would be great to have photos of models who would suit the various shades, for help in choosing the correct shade. I am a C6, medium brown with yellow undertones, and I use this when tanned, but it is a bit pink so i mix with some tan olive.
