    Move over Bare Minerals

Posted by Dawn on 9th Jun 2018

I have normal to dry skin and I recently switched from liquid foundation to Bare Minerals a few months ago. A few weeks ago, I saw a YouTube video on Lucy Minerals and I read comments it's better than BM. I heard it was "creamy". My interest was hooked. My order arrived today and I am in love with the original formula. I didn't buy a sample, but fortunately, I picked the right shade. I'm just going to need to use BM whenever I don't care what I look like, because though I don't hate BM, I love Lucy! (I didn't plan to write that, btw. I just works! HA!)

    Favorite Mineral Foundation

I appreciate the selection of shades and the ability to have custom shades made for neutral and pale skin tones. This foundation is really good for acne proned skin and has decent oily control. I use this foundation on days for errands, going to the gym, or spending time outside. I also use it for extra coverage on acne scars over my liquid to powder foundation for work and school. I have tried bare minerals, mica bella, and other mineral foundations and this is by far my favorite. Highly reccomend!

    My HG Foundation

Posted by MLM on 17th Jan 2017

I'm white as the driven snow, or close to it. Finally, by doing a mix of this foundation with the pure white foundation they also sell, I can get the perfect shade. I've been using this for over a year and still love it.

What's more, I am an aficionado of all types of foundation across all price points. I know my foundation and application methods. And this stuff is the best--yes, better than Laura Mercier, and Mac, and wayyyyyyy better than that Bare Minerals trash.

Here's how I prefer to apply on my dry, sensitive, flaky skin (my method might surprise you).

    (1) Use glycolic acid toner to exfoliate skin. Mario Badescu is my favorite.

    (2) Apply light moisturizer.

    (3) Apply hydrating, water-based primer. I prefer Spackle or Revlon Colorsray primers.

    (4) Give everything a couple minutes to set.

    (5) Take a high quality makeup sponge (my fav is Jane Iredale) and press some foundation over my nose and eyelids until I reach desired coverage. I usually like medium to full, as my nose gets a bit red.

    (6) Take a flat-top foundation brush and dip it into a bit of foundation (I dispense some into the upside down lid) and begin buffing it into my skin, avoiding my nose and eyelids. Do this until you reach your desired level of coverage.

    (7) Spray face with setting spray (I like Jane Iredale 's) and allow to set.

    (8) Proceed with the rest of your makeup routine, blush, etc. Be sure to set again with setting spray when you're done!

    I end up with clear, flawless skin. People compliment me a few times a week on how great my skin is, not realizing I'm wearing a full face of makeup;

l buy this for my grandaughter who gets a lot of spots on her chin, well she used to, since using this foundation it has cleared up no end, she still gets a few here and there but this foundation covers them up brilliantly, she wouldn't use anything else now. Would definitely recommend this product.

    Favorite Foundation

This is by far my favorite foundation. It covers well without feeling cakey or heavy. I use the Lucy Light because of my sensitive skin/rosacea. The foundation covers the scars perfectly without any effort. I get compliments all the time. I've been using Lucy Minerals for years and will never go anywhere else.

    Love it!

I am new to mineral foundation and saw some great reviews on Lucy Minerals on youtube. I have very sensitive skin but was intrigued by the original foundation. I got samples of both the original and the Lucy Light. I really like both of them and was really happy that the original foundation did not irritate my skin. In fact my skin is more clear. I can't give all the credit to the foundation but I am sure it is helping.

    Great foundation!

I love this shade and this powder! My only complaint is one of user error; I'm just not used to loose powder foundations! lol That being said, I would definitely recommend this to others. I loved the sample I got at first, and made the plunge to try the big size. I might try to press this, since I'm more familiar with pressed foundations, but I'm a little afraid it will change the formula into something funky my skin won't like, which defeats the purpose.

Anyways, I love this! Hoping for a pressed version from Lucy Minerals one day!

    So good!

I got this foundation after finding that my old concealer and foundation were breaking me out. I'm not really a fan of cream products either, I don't like how they feel on my face and they separated on my nose and gathered in creases a lot and overall just looked horrible on me. I have combo skin with an oily T-zone and dry corners of my nose and cheeks.

This foundation is FANTASTIC. I was recommended Lucy Minerals from multiple people on reddit. After ordering some sample sizes to color match, I ordered a custom blend of half Fair, half Light shades (light was slightly too yellow and dark for me, Fair a tad too pink but would have worked alright - together they are an exact match!) I got it in the original formula. I tried a primer originally with it but it actually sits way nicer on my skin with nothing underneath which is very convenient. It looks very natural and blends really nicely into my skin, and it doesn't feel like I am wearing anything, which is a huge plus for me. It doesn't cling to dry patches I have, and only after a full day of wear does my nose start looking shiny. I'm super impressed. I do have to be careful to apply lightly around my smile lines because it will start to slightly crease there after 6ish hours of wear, but that's minor. I find that it has really nice coverage, too. I have some acne down my cheeks and a few spots that crop up on my forehead and chin and I find that it almost entirely covers them up but my skin still looks natural with my freckles showing through a little. If I want a little more coverage I'll dab a concentrated amount on a spot and then blend it out; I don't even use concealer anymore. My acne has simmered down now too and I'm no longer getting bad cystic breakouts. I don't use the sifter though, I found that it ends up being rather messy - I just scoop a small amount onto a glass surface so I can better control the amount I want to pick up, and I apply with a kabuki brush. I scoop out an almost full 1/8 tsp, but it's more than enough for me. A little goes a long way, I've had it for 3 months and I'm about halfway through the jar.

Customer service has been excellent and both my samples and the full size orders shipped super quick. I will definitely be repurchasing forever :)

Me and my Grandaughter both use Lucy Minerals it's the best mineral foundation ever, it has cleared up my granddaughters skin no end she used to suffer badly with acne but after using this it is so clear. We are so pleased you started shipping to the UK again we were lost without you we knew we wouldn't find a foundation as good as this, if covers beautifully even my red veins on my face through sun damage it stands up to all the sweating I do as well it is brilliant and I can't recommend it enough.
