    The best mineral makeup

Posted by Araina on 23rd Dec 2023

I found this brand approx 5 years ago and it has been my favorite ever since. The coverage is the most natural, it’s buildable and covers redness or any blemishes very well with ease. The ability to mix foundations to make a custom shade is amazing as well. Plus the different formula options are a game changer, I have both the calcium for oil control and the regular formula which are great options for different seasons. The option to add CBD is also great but in general the ingredients in Lucy minerals formulas surpass all the others i have seen. Super skin loving and great for sensitive skins like I have. The owner of this company is also a gem of a person, very kind and accommodating. Over all I highly recommend this brand

I have used pale olive foundation for years to quell dark circles under my eyes. Stays where I put it!

    Perfect match!

Posted by Sue on 7th Jul 2021

I have very fair olive skin and I always struggle with foundation shades. I'm an NC10 in Mac and I can get away with fairly light from BareMinerals, pearl in loreal freshwear and 110 porcelain in the Maybelline fit me line. This foundation is the most perfect match I have ever had. It completely disappears on my skin. It builds up nicely but can look cakey if I put too much on at once. It can look a little powdery when I first put it on but with some rosewater spray or setting spray (or a half hour of wear time) it looks perfect and natural. It wears so we'll throughout the day and fades naturally (after about 8 or 9 hours). I have the Lucy light formula and it feels so airy on my face. It doesn't break me out like the bare minerals original. I absolutely adore this foundation and I am so happy I found this wonderful company! I am so grateful.

Best mineral foundation for sensitive/allergic-prone skin

Posted by Charmaine on 11th Jun 2021

I love the Lucy light formula. It doesn't cause my skin to react negatively such as erupt in rashes or breakout. The coverage is buildable but you need to have well moisturised skin if not it might start to look cakey when layering. I recently learnt my skin tone is olive and this shade suits me perfectly!

    Love the Light Pale Olive

Posted by Heather on 31st Aug 2020

It is so hard to find make-up for olive skin! I first tried the original formula and it was difficult to get it on smoothly and seemed too thick but the Lucy Light is perfect! If you need more coverage, just add more!

Best foundation ever for my sensitive skin

Posted by Stacey on 12th Apr 2019

Lucy Light is the only foundation that does not irritate my skin or cause acne. (I've tried probably 20 different foundations over the last 10 years.) The "Light" formula has all the coverage, with just a few ingredients. Easy to apply with a brush, and sometimes I'll mix it with pumpkin seed oil (another fave) to make a cream/liquidy foundation (tip- try a shade darker than usual if you do this; for whatever reason it makes the shade paler). Mixed with the oil, I get the smoothest, healthiest looking skin I've ever had in my life. Also, the color "Pale Olive" is exactly what other brands are missing. I'm pale, but could never quite determine if I was cool or warm, or pink or yellow, and it turns out I'm olive, but just quite pale! I use the "Creamy Olive" shade mixed 50% with "Pale Olive" when I mix it with oil.

    Love this stuff

Posted by Unknown on 2nd Aug 2018

This is the only mineral foundation I’ve found that matches my fair but yellow toned skin. The coverage is good for acne scars and it lasts a decent amount of time on the skin. I wish I could find a way to blend it better as it seems to leave blotches where it’s been applied but that would be my only complaint, and that may just be my own application problem.

    Note from Lucy Team:
We are sorry you've been having some application trouble. Our formula can be tricky since a small amount goes a long way-like a full coverage foundation. Be mindful of the amount of powder you use and the brush you use. The cleaner the brush the easier and if the brush is too dense it will hold more product making it difficult applying a small amount at a time. Here are some tips from our website:
You need to start with a small amount of Lucy Mineral Foundation and then add a little bit more if needed. Lucy Minerals Foundation is concentrated and you don't need to use as much. It is better to use a few light layers than to put too much product on your brush. Once you learn to use the proper amount, it looks and feels very soft and natural while giving wonderful coverage.
To apply Lucy Minerals Foundation, dip your Foundation Brush into a small amount of minerals, tapping off the excess, and then buff all over your face in little circles. If you have dry skin, dip your concealer brush in a teeny tiny drop of Ambrosia Beauty Oil first and then dip into your minerals. Or use clean fingers. If you have larger pores, allow the minerals to warm to your skin for about 10 minutes while you are doing your hair or your eye makeup, and then blend again using a brush, sponge or clean fingertips. Your pores will appear much smaller after this blending. Then use some Finishing Powder to set everything. If you are oily, try using some Finishing Powder underneath your Foundation and then also over your Foundation and Blush. You can also checkout some application tutorials on YouTube just search for Lucy Minerals. We wish you all the best and hope this information helps.

    Sincerely,
    Lucy Minerals Team

    Best Mineral Foundation

Posted by Araina on 25th May 2018

The finish on this is so natural, I feel like it literally melts into the skin. The color is almost perfect for me depending on the time of year I mix Pale Olive and Light Olive together to get my perfect match all year round. Buildable coverage that looks natural not cakey and a little seems to go a long way. I love pairing this with the multi tasking oil as a primer and the booster as a setting powder

    Looks Natural

People say this actually looks like healthy skin on me, despite that I have really awful acne. It stays on all day without vanishing from my nose.

The only foundation I always come back to!

Posted by Kara on 6th Nov 2016

As a professional model and musician, I need a foundation that photographs well, has good coverage, doesn't oxidize, is long-wearing, matches my pale olive skin and makes my face look flawless on stage without appearing like a caked-on mask when I am talking to people after a show. It would be difficult for any single product to live up to all of these expectations, and Lucy Minerals is the only foundation I can rely on! I have tried high-end foundations from many different companies, including the very popular and award-winning MUFE Ultra HD. It could not live up to my Lucy Minerals!!! I will be a customer for life, and my only wish is that there would someday be a liquid formula of this foundation!
